Outdoor Locations

These are some locations that I often shoot at. This is certainly not an extensive list, but these are my tried and true go-to's.

I always love to visit somewhere new! Places that have special meaning to you are wonderful choices, and that location could be as close as your own land.

Keep in mind that the ideas below are not all ideal at all times of the year. Many locations have their own photography policies including fees, permits and/or waivers, and I always like to ensure that we have permission wherever we end up taking pictures. Travel fees may incur.

Adamant

Between Calais and East Montpelier, Adamant is a beautiful little unincorporated village with stunning small waterfalls, stone walls, vibrant colors, greenery and flowers (dependent on time of year). Great for families (both small and extended) and senior portraits. There is a little bit of walking involved as there is really only one place to park, and some of it is slightly uphill. This location is best in the spring, summer, and fall. Would not recommend in the winter.

Braintree Hill

With stunning mountain views, this location is gorgeous in every season. It is easy to access, with several different features in minimal walking distance on a flat road. Great for families (both small and extended), senior portraits, maternity, and couples sessions. Features include: wooden fence, mountain views, flowers & tall grass fields (depending on the time of year), apple trees, country dirt road, brick structure, and short rock wall.

Fish Hill Tree Farm

A private tree farm nestled in Randolph owned by some of my very good friends. Parking lot with a short walk across a small babbling brook (can be icy and damp in the field that you walk across to access the tree farm). Great for small families, couples, children, and maternity. Only available in the late fall and early winter months on specific dates. Great option for Christmas card photos!

Kingsbury Covered Bridge

Vermont is full of covered bridges and this one is a favorite of mine. It is easy to access, right off of Route 14 in East Randolph. There is a small place to park right next to the bridge. This bridge is not used often, which makes it a great location for all kinds of sessions. Features a dirt road, grass field, the beautiful covered bridge, and a classic Vermont farm in the distance with a gorgeous brook - makes for great country shots! One of my favorite spots for small families, couples, and maternity.

Whales Tails

Don't let the sculpture shy you away from this location - we don't have to have them in the photos, but they are pretty awesome to check out. With gorgeous mountain views, a lovely rock wall, a nice tree line with a hidden path through the woods, this spot makes for some really cool photos. Available in the spring, summer, and fall only. One of my favorite spots for small or large families, couples, children, and maternity.
